Congrats to everyone on their successful hunts! I figured I would chime in with mine. My son and I both tagged out here in Utah with our bows. He shot his second bull elk and I shot my biggest to date. Both 1 shot kills from about 35 yards.
I saw decent bulls almost everyday. They were not rutting very hard. Most were alone. Bugling in the late evenings and early mornings then going quiet. Had bulls within 80 yards at least a dozen times but just no shot.
Fun hunt. Beautiful country.
My elk was the result of great team work. We were hunting the late season general elk hunt in my home state of Utah. It is a highly competitive-low success hunt.
My hunting buddies and I found this bull in a great spot to make a stalk on him. We came in from different angles and the bull...
The whitetail hunt was a hunt I was invited on. We went to Saskatchewan. Hunted out of a blind and I saw few deer. It was unseasonably warm and the deer weren’t moving much during the day.
I passed a couple of 4 points the first two days. They were cruising pretty good and I barely had time to...
Just wrapped up a whitetail hunt and my second elk hunt for ‘23

Shot my second and biggest whitetail a few weeks ago with my 270 shooting 150 grain BT. Complete pass thru. Ran about 40 yards before dropping.
This bull was a late...
I have been locked out of my account for a bit. Thought I would share my 2022 hunts with you all.
Congrats to all of you with some fine trophies and full freezers!
This year started off with my Dads crossbow antelope.
My brother shot a nice general season bull elk.
Then my sons archery elk...
I hunt mostly with my bow but my kids and I have shot a few elk with rifles and muzzy. We have used:
270 Win 150 gr. Partitions
270 Win 130 gr. BT
7mm-08 139 Interbond
7mm mag 150 partitions
.54 Hawken 460 gr. Buffalo bullet
Just got back from Colorado. What a beautiful setting to hunt mule deer! I shot my buck at 165 yards with my 270 win using 150 gr. Ballistic tip handloads.
Bullet was a complete pass thru and left a quarter sized exit. The buck trotted about 10 yards and dropped.
We went 3 for 3 on mule...
Thx all!
As a matter of fact he did say “This is a hunt I will remember for the rest of my life!”
Now that is what it is all about!

Private land is even more doable if you can swing the cost. If cost is preventing you from going, don’t hesitate to try a public land hunt either.
Antelope can be done with minimal cost and max opportunity. They are everywhere and provide abundant opportunity!
Either way, good luck, you...
