Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's frustrating and I'm sure Savage will get you squared away. I bought a special run Savage 10P-SR a couple years ago for about the same price ~$550. I run it as a suppressed hunting rifle. It's a similar rifle that comes with an 18" threaded barrel...
Here you go. Read the story. It's quite a discussion. IMO better shot placement would have done the trick. The bullet did its job.

That's what I'm thinking. The 180 Berger is impressive at 3000+. I can't wait to get the 175s going. I'll let you all know what I come up with in a few weeks.
Hello all. I've browsed the forum several times and I just recently started posting. Just for a little background, I'm Active Duty Army currently deployed in Aghanistan and I'm a firearm and hunting addict. I've been stationed all over the world at one time or another and I have hunted nearly...
Eberle packs are top notch for what they were made for, and in some cases exceeding what they were made for. My first Eberle stock was the first series J105 All in One and I packed hundreds of pounds of meat with it to include 150 lb moose hind quarters and various caribou and deer quarters...
I just got a couple boxes to to run in my semi custom 7RM. I usually run 3060 fps with a Berger 180/Retumbo load or 3000 fps with H1000. I'm excited to see what the 175 LRAB will do. I'm hoping to hit around 3080 with them. I also hope the BC holds true to advertised.
Good point. However, if it were my 6mm I'd twist it up and drive 115 DTACS to get the most out of it. I prefer high BC bullets with enough velocity to get the ballistic advantage. You'd be surpised at how much easier it is to make hits in the wind with high BC heavies.
I'd get an 8 twist and unlock the true capability of the 22-250. There's nothing like pounding rock rucks at 700 yards with a 75 grain A-max at 3250 fps. You'll still do just fine with the lighter bullets too.
For the best performance in the wind, get your hands on some 7828ssc and launch the heavies. It makes for some fantastic heavy loads from 200 grains at 2900 fps up to 230s at 2700 fps in a 23" bbl..
