    180 Or 200 Grain In 30-06 Question

For what little this is worth, I've taken 3 Bull Moose over the years, and the cartridges were: .308 Win, .30-06, and .375 H&H. The fastest "kill" was the '06, and the H&H was the slowest. The bullets were 180 Partition, 200 Partition and 285 Grand Slam... don't like that last one. What I...

    375 Accubond question

 What are the velocity parameters for this bullets best function, and what is it's BC? What type or weight range of game animal is it best suited for? In breif please tell all about this bullet. Thanks! :)

    .30-06AI load data

For my Wiseman '06 AI I've found that the 180 BT does it all with 4831 in copious amounts, with a Federal match primer, and Lapua brass. I've seen 2995 ft/sec on the chronograph, but use a load at 2850 which is awesome accurate. Generall 150's at 3100 MAX, 165 at 3000 MAX, and 180's at 2900...

    30/30 with spitzer BTs

Oldelkhunter, Sorry for the delay, but been away from the computer. The powder that does best for me in 2 7.62's is the AA1680. I've found great velocity and accuracy with numerous bullets. But for heavier than average bullets, the VV130 is also a winner.

Nosler Partition bullets, out of the box.

Brian, Wouldn't it be interesting to take the worst offenders and shoot some groups with them. Then you will be able to profile the worst case scenero with your loads. I for one think you will be surprised at the accuracy they generate.

    30/30 with spitzer BTs

Robin, This is not a new idea, and yes it will and does work very well. The idea is to get a bullet which will expand reliably at the slightly reduced velocities of the .30-30. I went a slightly different route and loaded those 125 and 150 BT' s ina 7.62 x 39 which proved to be awesome on...

    270 win

Steel, Everyone is going to tell you that H4831 SC or standard is the one. That may be, but IMR 7828, or R22 are pretty awesome as well. I used the accubond this Fall with &*@* and was very very pleased. Velocities in a 26" barrel were just under 3200 ft/sec's, and accuracy was under 1 MOA.

    winchester 760

Somewhat similiar to the IMR 4350 burning rate, but under no conditions should it be exchanged exactly for same. Very useful in the .243 Win, and the .30-06 in my personal experience. I am sure there are other uses which may even be better.

    Rotational effect on bullet expansion??????

Thanks for the clear answer that velocity at impact is the key factor in expansion. I didn't mean to imply that there was some "hidden" significant Physic's Law which we all had been avoiding, but rather that the apparent "great" difference in rotational speeds would have some more major effect...

    Rotational effect on bullet expansion??????

This is a question which I seem to be unable to answer or have answered to my satisfaction. I must be one hard case... ??? Does the rotational speed of a bullet have a major influence on a bullets expansion in consistant media. This would apply to any caliber and weight projectile of an...

    Pick a powder

Well this is my first Nosler posting so I'll tell you right off that I believe each rifle will have some individual traits or preferences which will determine the answer to your question. As to us as shooters several things enter into the discussion. The first of which is habit, seconded by...
