    144 grain Berger 6.5mm

Here is some prelimianry data points for the 144 grain Berger with both Hornady and Lapua brass. I obviously started about 100 fps too high w Hornady brass which kind of surprises me as 42.7 grains RL!6 has been accurate and relilably not over pressure with the 147 ELD. Good nes here is how...

    QuickLoad questions thread...

Anyone out there still running QL for people? I would sure be grateful for someone to run the 144 Berger in 6.5 CM. A lot of folks will be using this bullet. Initial load development looks like more of a 140 grain than 147.

    QuickLoad questions thread...

I posted this last month in the Reloading pages but did not get a response. So I am reposting here. Can you calculate QL data using RL 16 for this new bullet? It is 1.413 inches long with a 0.469 bearing surface. I will seat to 2.900 OCL. 24 inch barrel. Hornady brass. And Lapua brass if...

Anyone using Nosler 6.5 CM brass? If so, what was powder change from Hornady?

Quickload Request; .284 Winchester/180 Berger Hybrid

Can you run a QL for this F-class set up for me? 27 inch long barrel. The 180 7mm Berger hybrid is 1.529 inches long. OCL for this load will be 3.078 inches. Winchester brass rather than necked up Norma. Many thanks!

    6.5 CM Hornady brass

I have been shooting a 6.5 CM a lot lately. Tikka T3X CTR, practically stock except for 20 MOA base, surefire muzzle brake for a can and 1 pound Mountain Tactical trigger spring. I purchased 200 round ammo can of Hornady American Gunner Ammo when I received the rifle and have harvested that...

    70GR .22 ACCUBONDS INBOUND...LOAD DATA..????

Take a look at the Hornady manual for 75 grain BTHP. They publish both SAAMI and NATO spec load data. CFE223 is amazing with the 75 grain. 2900 fps safe from 20 inch barrel. Great with the 64 grain Nosler bonded solid base also.

    CFE 223 150gr. Nos Partition 308 Win

CFE223 does wonders for the 64 grain Nosler BSB in 556. Over 3,000 fps from a 20 inch AR w Wylde chamber. Nosler data only shows 223 Remington loads from 26 inch bolt gun.

    6.5 Creedmoor Favorite Loads

43.6 grain RL-16, Federal 210-M, Hornady brass, 2.901 OCL (20/1000 off jam), 2825 fps, 24 inch stainless Tikka T3X CTR. 43.6 grains RL-16, same components, 140 Nosler RDF, 2.910 OCL, 2810 fps. (Or 0.2 more for equal velocity). 60/1000 off jam. Both fit in the Tikka magazine but are near maximum.

Base to Ogive measurement 6.5 CM/Tikka CTR

I purchased the Hornady OCL gauge and comporator set recently. I measured the Base to Ogive (BTO) of three bullets I have been using in my Tikka T3x CTR chambered in 6.5 CM. The Tikka has a long throat and a magazine to match (2.915 OCL possible). I have a lot to learn about technique and...

QL Request 140's at different OCL

Without QL data points I would probably keep pouring powder with both the 140 and 147 grain bullets. They "look" and "feel" safe. My freind the late Bill Steigers developed the correlation between case head expansion and psii in the 1960's when he wrote the first five Speer reloading manuals...

QL Request 140's at different OCL

Songdog, I compare my chronographed velocity with QL prediction of pressure at the same approximate velocity. I stop testing powder charges that produce a chronographed velocity above 60,000 psi, and aim for something between 55 and 57,000.

QL Request 140's at different OCL

Tikka T3x CTR (23 ¾ inch barrel w Surefire 6.8 mm brake). Surefire Suppressor attached. Once fired Hornady brass. Full length resized with 0.290 neck bushing. RL-16. Federal 210-M primer. 2.890 OCL. 75-83 degrees 3250 feet asl. 50% humidity. 30.0 Hg. 10-14 mph NW wind. 100 yards. Here are...

    Heavy versus lighter to 1000

You might try comparing a 130 hybrid w G7 to say a Hornady 140 ELD-M G7 at those velocities. Those are the go-to 6.5 bullets at our Gong range. Alot of guys are using the hybrid in semi autos and ELD in the bolt guns. The 140 ELD has a real world G7 of .305 or better. At 2825 fps I am...

QL Request 140's at different OCL

THANK YOU very much for taking the time to do that. Almost no difference as Songdog said. the proximity to my rifling must be making the difference. Or else my chronograph is all screwed up. But Hornady 140 BTHP, 140 ELD and 147 ELD reference ammo was indicating normal range. I expect to...

QL Request 140's at different OCL

Songdog, I am shooting a 24 inch 6.5 CM. And there was a large difference in velocity between the two seating depths. I loaded up another batch to try and see if the results are repeatable. PS Have you had any trouble with your CTR magazines? I get a high percentage of bolt over base with...

    QuickLoad questions thread...

that still gives me a velocity threshold to aim for. If you have time you might run one of the bullets at 2.890 and /or another at 2.915??? Might be interesting to see if it gains us anything. 2.80 OCL still useful for alot of other shooters.
