I still have the Win 190 and it still shoots great!
My hats off to you sir or anyone who has hunted and harvested that many different game animals, that's no doubt quite an accomplishment, congratulations!
I started out young with a BB/Pellet rifle killing all kinds of birds and looking back there were many that i probably shouldn't have shot. I...
I've had some drop in the scope but as many stated already the majority run a short distance and crash. If hunting a big field i usually see them go down before they make it to the wood line and those that do are usually just inside the woods.
I started out young with a Rem ADL 30.06 and harvested lots of deer with it so it'll always have a place in the safe and in my heart. My favorite is the 25.06, it's been my go-to for 30+ years and counting. I have a good friend who had a Sako 25.06 and he let me shoot it many years ago and i...
Welcome to the forum. I don't really have much to add to what's already been said, lots of good advice here. I too like slow powders in the 25.06 and that's pretty much what i've always used. I know it's not available anymore but RL22 & 25 have always been my go to powders but I've had good...
I've always favored Leupold scopes but have others as well. My main hunting rifle and my daughters has a Leupold VX5 2 x10 x 42 Duplex on it. We don't do any dialing with these rifles and this particular Leupold works great for our type hunting. The only rifle i dial with is a Rem LTR .308 and...
I harvested a couple deer many many years ago with the Hornady 120gr HP in my 25.06 and the bullet performed really well on both animals. I never could seem to get the accuracy out it i wanted so i moved on. Killed quite a few deer with the 30.06 and the Barnes 130gr TSX and my brother actually...
I can't comment on the Creed but my daughter has killed a truck load of deer and several coyotes with her .260 and the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. I don't know how well it would be for target shooting but it has worked very well for her on deer and coyotes from her .260.
My daughter has been shooting a .260 Rem for about 14yrs now and the only bullet she uses is the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. We started out with the 120gr BT but there was a time when that bullet almost became extinct so we had to find something else, so we went with the Sierra which was available...
Agree!, the 25.06 is no doubt my favorite caliber and I've been shooting one for around 35yrs with excellent results. The only game i hunt here in NC is deer, coyotes and an occasional hog and the 25.06 has always been pure poison on each. It's a mild recoiling, flat shooting and accurate...
