Prefer a 108 gr ABLR so you can sell it as a target/hunting bullet.
Or a 90 gr E-Tip.
Here's one for ya.
Try and get the BC around .465 like the 108 Scenar. Instead of an empty nose like the SMK and Scenar give it a long poly nose to match the 108 Scenars length and BC. The nose doesn't...
Nice vid.
The illustration showed VERY nice expansion at 1900 fps.
Interesting to see bonding all the way to the tip. Is this true or is the front section unbonded like the standard Accubonds to enhance wounding?
That little thing held onto it's core at 3200 fps! Outstanding!
I have some that I'll load for my 06 and 300 WSM this year. I'm hoping to find accurate loads around 2800 fps. Thanks to posts like this I have no problems hunting blacktail with em.
Really appreciate the sharing bbearhntr.
What's the damage to the meat look like? I gather that it's at it's best aimed low and behind the shoulder but how critical is placement. Will I be trowing away meat if the shot goes a bit high?
I'm hoping to find an accurate load around 2800 or 2900 fps.
Wow
Sure can pack a bunch of that stuff in there. 300WSM load: 74 grains behind a 150g bullet for 100 fps faster than factory loads. That's five more grains than any load in my books.
I have no use for it but it is impressive.
Or shortened up the 276 Pedersen. We could have had something a lot like the 6.8 SPC for carbines during WW2 and skipped right over the 7.62x51 and the 5.56.
I've read good things about the CorBon DPX load.
"Likewise, the Corbon DPX load penetrates 18.9" and expands to 0.56" in bare gelatin."

Sounds like it would fully penetrate on a broadside shot at fairly close range.
Real neat little gun. Too...
Any advice on crimping for a semi-auto? I shoot a 30-06 BAR but I read a review at Midway where a fella said that he couldn't get a good enough crimp on them and was getting bullet setback. I'm thinking that a cannelure tool might help.
Not many people will load with an unknown powder. Most will throw it under a favorite bush because being high in nitrates it makes a good (pause) fertilizer..
I bought a box of 150 gr SSTs the other day and they are still sitting on the bench. I knew they were on the soft side but not as bad as I've read here.
I need a high BC 150 gr bullet for a medium velocity deer load at 2600-2700 fps. Think the SST will hold up at that velocity?
I thought the...
How do you get a crimp on these?
I recently read a post from a fella that couldn't get a crimp and got bullet setback from just the recoil on the cartridges that been at the bottom of the mag.
I shoot a lightweight 300WSM that recoils a bit and a 30-06 BAR that I'm sure bangs the bullet nose...
According to Load From a Disk software the 150 TSX is 1.38". The 130 is 1.26". I've learned to not fully trust the measurements given by LFAD so don't bet the bass boat on those numbers.
Great thread, keep it coming.
I've got a good handle on how the 150s perform at 300 velocity.
I wonder if...
Here's some full pressure XMP-5744 load data.
