I'm thinking of loading up some 100 grain partitions in the 264 mag for deer and antelope. If anybody has tried this, I am interested in hearing how it went and what powder worked with this. I've loaded some for the 6.5X55 but haven't had a chance to see how they perform in the field.

Never gone as low at 100's in the 264, but I don't see why it wouldn't be dynamite on deer and antelope..

Seems like 3500 would be very easy and 3600 with some of the other powders.

Give us an idea of what you have for powders and I'd be glad to run the profile.

I'd really look at 7828 if it were me. I'll run the profile for you if you can send your H20 capacity of fired cases.

I was going to try it in the 264 WM but never did, it would have been a screamer. I have tried it in 2 different 260 Rem rifles but with no success when it comes to accuracy, we will try them in my wife's 6.5x55 and see how they work. It is a pretty tough little pill though coming very close in equaling the penetration of the 125 gr Partition.

So far the 6.5x55 load I tried has been a disappointment at the range. If somebody comes up with a promising load, I'd like to hear about it.

71 gr RL 25 3650 fps. Laser in the super grade!

I've never owned a .264 Mag, but I've had two .257 Weatherbys. I used the 115 Partition in the first one and the Barnes TSX 100 gr in the second one. Both were dynamite on deer/exotics. Won't be a nickel's worth of difference between the two cartridges I'm sure. I got 3500 with the 100 TSX and I bet 3600 will come easy to that 264!

That would be a screamer load. Just stay off the shoulders up close.
