160g AB from 7mm

I got to cronograph my load for the 160g AB and 162g AMAX. There both shooting under .4" at 100 yards with 61g RL-22, W-W case, Fed 215 primer. The 160 AB is shooting 2870fps. The 162 AMAX is going 2844fps. Over 6 shots, the highest-lowest deviation was 5fps!!! I think this load will prove to be a winner at longer ranges. I think I'm liking my 168g Berger VLD at 2950fps, especially since it has the highest BC. I might try different powder like 7828, or H1000 and try to get the velocity up around 3000.

You're doing a darned fine job of handloading if you've got the extreme spread down to 5 fps! Congrats! I think you'll find you've got a real nice load there...

That is a VERY low SD. I am happy when I can get an SD of 20fps!
I am looking forward to trying the 160 AccuBond in my new 7RUM. Should be interesting...

My 7 STW loves the 160 AB...80 gr of Retumbo + remington cases + CCI 250 primers = 1/2" groups!
