i have a ruger k77/17 varmint and find after about 20 shots groups start to open up i then clean it and everythings ok. does anybody have the same with there 17s? also any suggestions on ammo for best performance,useing cci 20 grain hollow points at the moment.][/quote]

I have an Anshutz 17 HMR.
I have not noticed any decrease in accuracy until about the 50 round mark, then cleaning is necessary. My rifle choked on the CCI round you mentioned, it shows a distinct preference for the hornady 17 grain VMAX.
I would assume you can obtain the hornady round in the UK?

thanks for replies. How come you both have european manufactured guns is there something wrong with the rugers? Yes we can get hornady just got some today looking forward to trying them. What do you use pop?

Good question!
I think that the time I bought my Anschutz, Ruger was having trouble getting rifles to the dealers.
I like Rugers (I own 4 model 77's) but I really like that Anschutz, shoots very well with the hornady Vmax
