Went shooting yesterday.I loaded 10 rounds of the 180 AccuBond over H-1000.I was not group shooting, just testing the loads for velocity/pressure.I started at 80 grs, and worked up to 83 grs.(about as much as I could get in the once fired Lapua case). After one fouler, that left 9 rounds.I shot them with no apparant pressure indicators.I could see through the rifle scope that all of the shots were grouped together, but when I retreived the target there were five shots in a globe that measured .411" and another glob of four shots that measured .473" about .212"away from the first glob for a total group measurment of 1.11"for 9 shots. The target frame was swaying back and forth with the wind, plus the paralex in the scope, this group might have been all together.
The only disappointment was that the top velocity was only 3062 fps.I have gotten up to 3140 fps. using RL-22,but I have found it not to be very predictable in hot to cold tempts. What do you guys think? Is 3062 fps. acceptible considering the accuracy?
Thanks for any opinions!

Factory loads for the .300 Win mag are rated at 2960 fps for a 180 grain bullet... I'd say your load at 3062 fps is more than acceptable. I always felt good about my .300 Win mag hunting loads when I had a good 180 grain bullet moving at around 3000 fps, or a little better.

Yours also seems to be a pretty doggone accurate load. I think you're onto a winner!

H1000 is the way to go with 300. My Model 70 Laredo LRH will print 3/4" group five shot using 82.5 grain of H1000, 180 grain Hornady BTSP Federal gold medal brass and 215M match primers. Average velocity is a tad over 3000 fps. The 300 must be loaded to near maximum for better accuracy and consistency. My brass is good for three loadings and must be discarded after that. Lately I switch to Winchester brass as my supply of Federal gold is dwindling fast. I'm down to 500 rounds now. Winchester last me 5 loadings. Likewise, I have the same problem with R22. I used it once for load development an gave up on them due to erratic performance.
