I would like to get some opinions on size of game to be hunted with this bullet. I'm sure of Whitetail but how about Elk. I reload a 338-06 at 3000 fps with this bullet
I think it would be a good elk bullet. Before I bought my 338 I used 180 gr partitions in my 300 mag. Killed 2 elk with them. The 180 gr is also very popular in the 30-06.
I just asked our Ballistics Guru and he said .338-06 / 180gr AccuBonds should be a good combo for an Elk round. He suggested a heart/ lung target, if you want to go for shoulders shots then he suggested Partitians. Tight groups, happy hunting.
