Well guys, our provincial big game draw was done today.
I struck out on Moose, either sex Mule deer & antlerless Mule deer :(. This is the first time in a lot of years that I have not pulled at least one tag.
Oh Well looks like I will be hunting the regular seasons this year !

Dan

Good that you have the regular season, Dan. There is quite a bit of striking out going on. :(

Sorry to hear you didn't draw any tags but thankfully you can hunt in the regular season. Are you still able to hunt for elk and moose along with the deer?

gerry I do not enter the draw for Elk as we have a open season and the area we hunt has a good Elk population. I have not gone for Bull Moose in the open season for a number of years but I believe I will be this year . Our Whitetail population took such a hit 2 years ago we did not take one last fall :( but we are hoping that deer herd has rebounded & we will be able to harvest a couple this year. If we don't see many then we will not take any likely will just shoot the coyotes we see while hunting Whitetail.

Blessings,
Dan

Sorry to hear that you struck out on the draws, Dan. I got antlered and antlerless mule deer and antlerless whitetail. Got shot down on the antlerless elk though. :( Dunno about the antelope yet. Good luck on what you can chase.

I struck out here aswell!!! Every year I think this is the year and every year the amount of priority needed to draw a tag in my chosen zone goes up.. 3 years in a row I believed I would draw in on bull moose and 3 years is a Notta...
I'm back into the stick and string and have been shooting the PSE every other night. I can drive an hour north and bow hunt moose in calling season the only question will be if I have the time.
I guess the consolation prize is Dad drew cow elk for my back yard zone, and we have been seeing a few more in little pockets here and there over the last few years.
If I don't draw in on a bull moose next year I may just flip my tuque... Just a warning lol.

I am sorry to hear that Super7, I am not going to whine as I have been fortunate with the draw even if it has not always been my tag as last year my son & grandson got drawn at our farm. It was a very easy hunt and we were able to harvest two beautiful dry cow Moose and I was fortunate in also getting a mature Elk. We still have good supply of Moose & Elk in the freezer !
Good luck with the Elk hunt with your dad I know that will be a good time :). I sure hope that you are able to find some time to get at a bull Moose during the call.

Blessings,
Dan

Bummer. Still, we will pull for your dad to tag out. Trust you will have opportunity to arrow a moose this year.

We are pulling you guys to do well in the open season, maybe next year you will draw again. Fwiw I haven't had a moose draw in 8 years, thought this year it would come together but with 2 elk tags in the house and a grizzly permit we aren't complaining at all.

You go Bud, I can't wait for Maria to get her first Elk. I know that you have a great host he will put in the effort for you both :)!
I no longer have a hanker to shoot bear, but if the are cleaning up on Moose calves I will start hunting them to keep their population under control.
Again gerry the best of luck to you & Maria!!

Blessings,
Dan
