While there are many powders that do well in the 223, what is your favorite for bullets in 50-55 grain range? The one you always reach for?

h4895 with rem 55gr REm PLHP and Rem 7.5 primer in AR

2015BR in Bolt with Sierra 52 MK

+1 for the 748
I've used a lot of it and still using it only to get rid of it.... I've had an 8lb can forever. I started using it in my AR too, but have noticed it appears to be a very dirty burning powder....??

Thanks to all who have responded so far. I've been trying to decide between H335 & Benchmark to try. So with Benchmark coming up so much, going to give it a try.

I tried Benchmark and Varget in my Howa 1500 .223. The Varget gave me tighter groups with my 50 grain Hornady V-max pellets.

You might want to give Ramshot TAC a try. Very similar burning rate to H-335 or Accurate 2520. Also seems to foul less, since they claim to use a copper-inhibitor in their powder. Locally Ramshot powders cost from $3 to $5 less per pound than IMR or Hodgdon . Sometimes you can even get it on sale. I paid $79 per keg for a couple of 8 lb kegs from Powder Valley a few months back. I noticed Midway had it on sale for $9.95 per lb. I have been using it in my .223 and have been happy with its' accuracy, velocity, and consistency in my .223. My buddy is going to try some in 22-250 Ackley. I am curious to see how well it works in the bigger case.

I agree with Ramshot Tac. I have not done alot of .223 reloading but have already found that I like Tac, ALOT!
