So there's a thread on 24hour campfire where a couple guys are talking about this and it has me wondering what this would look like in Quickload. Noslers 40gr data shows 23.5gr max of RL7. They were starting there and went up to 27gr. Stating 4000fps, which I'm inclined to believe. My question is at what pressure and also what would this look like velocity wise from a 20" barrel? I'd be using the 40gr lead free ballistic tip although the 35gr version seems more plausible.

Hi if you go on Nosler web site they will tell you what you want to know .

??? No they won't. The load data from Nosler shows 23.5gr max. These guys are going above that. Way above that. I'd like to see a Quickload prediction to see what kind of pressure is going on at those levels.

Yup! Pressured up, for sure.

OK, that is interesting. RL7 does look really good in a 20" barrel! Thank you.

It depends on the brass Hornady brass is good and Lapua brass is good. Winchester brass should be checked .

I always size new brass and trim it. Just too much hassle to deal with surprises later in loading process or in the field.
