I just picked up a 338 RUM and was wondering how the AccuBond would hold up at the higher velosities of the 338 RUM. My primary game woudl be moose and carabou. Also any favorite powders? Thanks

The 225 AccuBond held up well on an elk hunt last fall in my buddies .338 RUM. The elk was quite a ways off, so maybe it was not the best test, but it worked well in this case.

That bullet has a great ballistic Coefficient and sure shoots flat at RUM speeds.

When working up loads for his Remington Sendero we had the best luck using Fed 215 primers and RL 25 powder. In fact we shot three shot groups well under a half inch!

Bear,

RF is right on the money! I used RF's load and had great luck with the 225 gr AB's in my M700 LSS 338 RUM. Groups are in the .5's.
Great long range load for just about anything.
I have also tested the 225 gr AB in water at 50, 100, 200, and 300 yds.
Here are my results:

DISTANCE EXPANSION WEIGHT % RETAINED
50 .637" 131.0 58.2
100 .795" 134.5 59.8
200 .778" 144.4 64.0
300 .777" 144.5 64.3

Hope this helps you out.

Regards,
