One of my favorites. Have you tried the 210 Nosler Weatherby factory loads in your 340? They scream Mine shows 3215 FPS average and accurate. Good Elk load BTW.
Start off trying the IMR 7828. I run around 85.0 - 85.5 grains but Haven't tried 7828SC I use the old school 7828 long cut. But start off around 81 - 82.0 and cautiously work your way up. Use a 215M if not available 215 or a 9 1/2M also works well. I run around 3.620 COL if you go longer beware pressures come up sooner on the powder charge.
