That's the size of the three shot group I got out of my Nosler Partition load in my 25-06 from prone off my pack at 100 Yards. I'd say that's more than good enough for hunting.

It's taken me a lot of work, trying various powder and bullet combos, to get a Nosler bullet to shoot in my rifle but it's been worth it. I wish I could find a boattail that it liked but this rifle has shown a marked preference for IMR 4350 and flat base mid-weight bullets.

Wish me luck as I'm using this load on the coues deer I'm hunting this week.

Vince,

That is a shooter load for sure.
Good luck on your Coues deer hunt and post some pictures.

Thanks guys.
It's not my most accurate load, but plenty good enough I say.

Vince,

I'd think that load will work just about anywhere. Congratulations for some fine work.

Half inch group off of a pack at 100 yards, and it's a Partition! You are ready to take on the world, well most of the world anyway. Nice load work. IMR4350 works out nicely in my wife's rifle also.

It's maybe not the bullet you wanted but it will still be an excellent bullet for any deer you will face, a group like that will definitely build some confidence before your hunt. Good luck and make sure you take lots of pictures :)

I still use the 100 grain, .257 Partition in my .257 Roberts. I can get close to 3100 fps and very sub MOA groups with the load. For the .257 Roberts it is a great load for game as is the 110 AccuBond which I can get 3060 FPS.

Small deer REQUIRE small groups, right? Fine shooting/development and best wishes for your hunt. EE2

Thanks guys.
I went out Friday and glassed up nine does and two bucks. The bucks were BIG! The problem was they were too far away for me to feel comfortable taking a shot from the position I had. When I moved twenty yards to my right for a better position I got busted.
Sadly I had to go to work for the next four days but rest assured I'll be back out before sunrise on Wednesday morning and have until Friday to get 'er done before going back to work.

I'm not the most technology inclined person out there but I have a picture of the country I was hunting and one of the group I shot.
If someone would be willing to post them for me I can send them via my phone.

You are welcome to forward them to me, Vince.

Sounds exiting Vince, you are lucky to be hunting such a neat animal. One of the classic North American hunts IMO.

Good deal Vince. I imagine that should be an excellent load in your 25-06.
