I have been loading the 257 Wby Mag for several years now, and have found that it likes Nosler BT 115 with 69 grs. R-22. I have tried H-1000, and IMR-7828 and IMR 4350 and found that R-22 shoots the best in my rifle.

The 257 shoots straight as a string out to 350 yds, and with the R-22 load will shoot 2.5 inch groups at 300 yds.

I like RL-22 also. It's worked well in my 7mm Rem. and my 257 Arnold. The Arnold is now a 25-300 WSM. I've been using RL-25 in that though.
You might want to give it a try in your Weatherby.

I've recently picked up a custom rifle in .257 wby. My first load is 75gr of IMR 7828 SSC with an 85 gr Ballistic Tip. I think it will make bad juju for coyotes.

I have a bunch of 100gr and 115gr ballistic tips.... anyone have any favorite loads? I really like the new 7282ssc.

I have been using a 257 Weebe since the mid-eighties! The last few years it is my long range groundhog rifle. I started out using IMR 4831, have switched to IMR 4350, results have been good.

The 257 WBY is a great LR deer/goat caliber. I have been patiently waiting for Remington to offer this in their M700 "Classic".
I guess I will just keep waiting and hoping.

The 110 gr AB or 115 gr BT would be the way to go.

If I get lucky enough to draw a speed goat tag I will be using my tried and true load using 115 grain ballistic silvertips. However, if I really get lucky and draw my late buck tag I will have a problem...work up a new load with the new 110 grain AccuBond, or just go out with old reliable....300 Winchester Mag with 200 grain accubonds? Let's hope I have to worry about it

Rick:

Those are nice results! What are your speeds?
