I have been shooting Hornady 140 SST with great satisfaction to 1000m, bought a box of Nosler 100gr brown tipped spitzers and have no reloading data for RL-19 powder. Help!

Thinking about 62.5 gr of RL-19 thru a 1-8 twist 26" 1.25"dia fluted barrel w/forward ported muzzel break at 3". Should be able to push a 100 gr 6.5mm to 3800 fps as a solid tip, balistic tip I'm thinking about 3350 max and see what happens at 200m and 500m. Frank

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you here.

The Nosler RG #6 calls out the following for the 264 Win Mag
100 gr BT/PT
RL 19 Start 64.5, mid load 66.5 and MAX 68.5 grs for a listed MV of 3570 fps

Should shoot pretty flat out to 500 yds.

Let us know how the 100 gr BT shots for you.

Man, alot of 264/6.5 shooters lately. Seems to be making a comeback. I can't imagine that little 100gr'er out of the 264! That would be a laser guided rocket on coyotes and such. Scotty

I need to give the 100 gr BT a try in my 6.5 JDJ. All I have used is the 120 gr BT.

Jim, that sounds like it would be a pretty tough little combo out of your 6.5JDJ. Is the 100gr BT a deer or Varmint bullet? I always thought the 100gr 6.5 PT would be a nice, low recoiling bullet that would have some great performance. Guess I will have to invest in a 6.5 one of these days. Scotty

Man, I bet that would make a nice little 260 or Swede load for youths and be dynamite on deer, even at reduced speeds. Scotty

I have played with the 100 BT and PT in the 260 Remington and a little in the 264 Win mag. I got 3300 fps from the 260 Rem and it basically equaled a 25-06 in performance but in a small package.

The 264 win just rocketed them out. Super fast and super flat.

and welcome to the forum! :p
