Either of these propellants will be much more likely to achieve the charge you are seeking.

You can't get enough H1000 or 7977 in a 270 win to do much good, even with a 150gr. IMR 7828 ssc is one of the best powders I've tried in the 270 win, can't do much better. If you work up a load with that quick load you should do well. But don't be too concerned about the velocity, I think Doc shorted you a few inches of barrel length.

Good catch, Bruce. Yup, if he wants it to meet these velocities, he'll have to whack off a few inches!

I’m not saying it will be so in your rifle. For me, IMR 7828SSC is the most accurate powder in my 270 Win with 130gr E-Tips. A true 5 shot group measuring .383” at 3157 fps. I also still have that target if you’d like to see it.
RL26 gives about 90 fps more velocity but is a little less consistent. I think 7828 is very underrated. So much so that I try to keep 6-10 lbs of it on hand all the time. It’s great in the 270 Win, and originally designed as THE custom powder for 7mm Rem Mag.

Appreciate the input. Currently i'm getting 3,240 w/ the 130 Tip over 62 GRS. RE26. Accuracy is .6"

Have 15 lbs at the moment. It’s great in the 270 Win, and originally designed as THE custom powder for 7mm Rem Mag.
Thats great! what's the charge weight Joe? I recall the Warren Page 7MM mag days and the "proprietary wonder powder."

Its 130 grain E-Tip, 58.4 grains IMR7828 SSC, Fed brass, CCI 200 primer, 3.340” OAL, and 24” barreled TC Venture. That is only .020” off the lands but that’s what it seems to like best. Most ET’s like more jump than this one. One of the best shooting loads I’ve ever came up with. It put 5 shots into .383”. Here’s the target, I had it in my back room. Not my best pic but gets the idea across. Stock rifle except for a Boyd’s stock. Not even bedded.

Not for all the powders
Are you needing powders not listed on their site? When so many (mfgrs) have gone to QL for data and not real testing they (mfgrs) should list more. In some cartridge/bullet configs there are only 2-3 powder listings. Were you looking for something specific?

This is the QL Mike ran for me a few years ago for 270 Win with 130gr E-Tips and RL26 for the load I run in mine. I always try and save them. There are probably a few I missed but I try to only ask once. Thanks again Mike
