I loaded up some 139 grain Hornadys and was spraying them around quite a bit. This was with a clean barrel and this rifle seems to put the first 2 shots about 2 1/2" apart

This E-tip load was what I used to hunt deer with last year. Last three groups were comparable to this and I don't have any burning urge to make changes to this. Pretty mild to shoot.

I wouldn't either as that will kill deer all day long and then some.

My first experience with them but I'd like to try some in the 30-06 when I get my hands on some.

If you get the idea to switch to a 150gn Sierra Game King, I found that bullet to be among the most accurate from my 280. Those 140gn Game Kings are no slouches, either.

RL22 was excellent across the range in my 280. Mine has a long throat so I'm seating them out to 3.34" which just happens to be the magazine box length in my rifle. As long as I seated them out to that length I got good groups with charges from 52 to 56 grains.
