30 cal-300win mag,308

Im new to reloading ,but plan on using Nosler Bullets!
My question is are 300 winchester Magnum bullets and 308 the same bullets? Is the diameter the same??? They are both 30 cal...

Both cartridges take .308" diameter bullets, yes.

Most find that the .300 Win mag shoots best, performs best, with 180 - 200 grain bullets, whereas the much smaller .308 Win seems to do best with bullets in the 150 - 175 grain weight range.

But yes, they both utilize the same .30 caliber bullets.

Think of the case as the engine. Different cases drive the bullet to different velocities.
I am a big block type of guy. :lol:

One of my friends uses the Nosler 165gr Solid Base.308 bullet in his 300 Weatherby for mule deer,bear & elk driven at 3400 fps +.BTW the best bullet for the 30-06 is the 165gr better velocity,impact & performance down range.
