300 rum

rem. 700 CDL.

I want to get one at cabelas, but i dont want to overpay.
Left hand if that makes a diff.

There are 6 gunshops and 5 wholesale dealers in my area and there isn't a single .300 UM to be had anywhere. I have an "order" in with one of the dealers, but he called me on Dec. 26th and said none were being shipped.

Is Remington up to something?

Just for comparisons I bought the same one here in Canada a couple of years ago and paid $785

Last September I was looking for a Remington SPS Stainless in a 300 RUM. Went to Sportsman's Warehouse they had one for $599 not a bad deal. Went down the road to BI Mart they had the same one for $559 + 20 dollars off on all Remington rifles. So I bought this for $539. Got home and looked on Remington's web site they had a $30 rebate going on this model. So sent in for it got my $30 from them about 6 weeks later. So ended up paying $509 for Remington 700, 300 RUM in Stainless SPS variation. Did I do good or what?

About a year and a half ago I bought a new 700 CDL for $465 - shot it for a year and sold it for $550. The local dealers have a hard time selling them around here anymore.

The .300 RUM is one impressive son of a gun, especially in a light rifle like the CDL...

Regards, Guy

I like the 300 RUM so much i bought the SPS matte for a back up. It was 475 from Dicks. Sounds like the stainless SPS for $509 was a good deal.

A dealer called me on Tuesday saying he had a Rem. SPS SS .300UM coming in on Friday and I am first in line for it. The price is $521, told him I'd take it.
