300 Ultra mag and Retumbo

does anyone have any experience on this combo. I shoot a 30-378bee with great results and my friend shoots the 300 UM. After shooting together he was not getting good groups with 180's and I can't remember the powder but I said you should try Retumbo do any of you have a starting point or a load you could share?

Can't help with the 180 but if he steps up to the 200 AccuBond 94.5 of Retumbo is the magic spot for mine, work up to it as per normal.

I have always wanted to load retumbo in my rum but ended up using rl25 and don't think I will be changing. Although I did secure some 200 AB's so if I could find retumbo that might be the powder I choose. Especially being that its an extreme powder

Nothing but retumbo in my 300 rum

96gr of Retumbo and 180gr BTs gave me 1/2" groups and about 3200FPS out of my RUM.

Do not overlook H1000

my 300 RUM way preferred it over retumbo...just saying. I shot the ba rrel out in 2 years. H1000 was used for 90% of it. I shot 200 ABs and 210VLDs. Awesome combo that's for sure. Scary accurate and packed more then enough wallop to drop spikes on other side of the canyon.
