What experiences have you had with this combo? I got my buck today with the RUM and gonna stick with that and the 30-06 as a back up, once I get the trigger fixed.

Anyways, I have about 5 boxes of Barnes .30 Cal bullets in various flavors that I bought off a member and with the 200g AccuBond/94.5 Retumbo/Fed 215M combo, I think I have a great combo for some potent deer and elk medicine.

So, to sell the Barnes or keep, that is the question.

Thanks

WM

Unless you're in an area that you cant use lead bullets I would sell the Barnes and stick with the 200gr NAB.
That combo is as good as it gets in the 300UM

You already have a good load. Unless you enjoy experimenting and pulling the trigger, sell the Barnes and keep shooting what works.

I've never seen the need to use all copper bullets unless you live where you have to use them or your rifle won't shoot anything else. I would send them down the road and stockpile a bunch of Accubonds!

WM,
I shoot basically the same load as yours in my 300 RUM, except mine is with RL-25. Sell the Barnes and stick with what you have Buddy. If there was anything to toy with it would be the new Long Range AccuBond coming out in the Spring 2013, the 210 has an incredible BC. But for now I'd stick with what you have.
The energy the 200 carries at 400 & 500 yards makes it a real HAMMER.

Thanks guys!!! And Don, that was exactly hat I was thinking. Bought the Barnes to toy with some long range loads, but now that the LR AccuBond is out, thats what i am going to be playin with

WM,
That's where I'm going with it too. I have had excellent results with my 200AB load. The new ABLR offering should be icing on the cake!

Dang, don't tell me I'm the only bullet hoarder on this forum? I would keep them, you never know what you may end up with down the road...

No, you're not the sole bullet hoarder, Kurt. There are others lurking in the shadows. They just don't speak of their predilection toward such accumulations.

You're joking right?

I load 168 gr tsx with retumbo in my 300 RUM for 3350fps. this combo has been used successfully on 4 black bears, 3 moose, and two caribou in the last few years and results have been stunning. Obvious expansion and full penetration on everything I've tried it on. Its even gone end to end on a bull moose at around 200 yards. Their is nothing wrong with the accubonds but don't under estimate the barnes bullets when you run them good and fast.
