I just worked up a load using

300 Win Mag
165 Fail Safe
780 Supreme @ 79.5
WLRM
WW nickle brass

Sure is a accurate load in Browning FN. Anyone else have good luck 780?

Any idea of velocity, Jeff? I have 780 and I've used it in numerous loads. I have yet to find a cartridge/load in which it has popped to the top. It is, however, a good performer. Believe it or not, I'm still using WMR and WXR as my favoured propellant in several cartridges (.280 Remington, 7mm RM and .30-06).

3125 FPS with the 165gr FS.

Really like the way in meters.......I beleve it to be in the same ball park as RL22 and H4831 for the 300 Win Mag and highly suggest Mag primers with Ball powder.

I went all WW for the components seemed to work well in the 300.

Next is the 7mm WSM with 175gr PP and W780.

WXR was a good powder!

I use a bit of W748 and think I will try W760 later on as well, but never W780. Seems like a good powder for alot of magnums. Really seems like it is working for you. Any pictures?

Why all WW components?

I tried out some Win.780 last time I was at the range and loaded the same charges as I used with Win. WXR in my 300WSM and 7STW.
In the 300WSM,I got 60fps less velocity and in the 7STW,I got 10fps faster velocity.Groups were very close to the same with both powders. So really,Reloader-22,Win WXR and Win 780 are all about the same, but may vary from lot to lot.

Jeff,

Sounds like a good load.
What kind of accuracy are you getting?

JD338

The W780 was introduced back in the old days, discontinued and re-introduced.

I have used 80gn of Supreme 780 in my 300 Wby, pushing a 180gn Interlock, and it has great accuracy. I can't remember the load I used in my 270 Win and a 130gn flat bottom Interlock, somewhere around 55gn or so, but it was very good accuracy also.
