i have 200 150gr. solid base i was considering trying in my .300wsm. wonder if the velocities this rifle generates would be too much for that type of bullet? already shoot accubonds, but have the solid base setting around too.

As you know, the Solid Base bullets ARE NOT bonded core bullets, but are the precurser to the Ballistic tip before they came out. I used to shoot NOTHING BUT the Solid Base bullets in all of my rifles and was very happy with the accuracy and perfomance on game. The ballistic tips are very accurate bullets, but I just didn't like how they worked on game animals and I felt they didn't hold together well enough, for me anyway. Too much blood shot and ruined meat too using the BT's.

I used 165 gr. Solid base in my 30-06, 140's in my .280 Remington, and 100 grs in my 6mm Remington. I cried big tears when Nosler stopped making them! :( Now that they have the AccuBond, I'm a VERY happy camper once again. Now if they would just make one from 90-100 grains for the 6mm Remington- .243 Winchester and other 243 caliber cartridges.

They won't hold together like the AccuBond would in your 300 WSM, but I think you would be very happy with the results on game. They never failed me on any elk, deer, or antelope I shot with them. Would make a great coyote, antelope, and deer bullet for you. Elk too if one stood in front of you!!
