.308 Win 168 gr E-Tip

Looks like I'll be hunting for in California Condor country this year and I need to work up a load for the 168gr E-Tip using IMR 4064. Where do I start?

You can start at 40.5 grain if you want to use 4064 according to Nosler no.4 Manual. I never use the 4064 in my 308. I have good luck with Reloader 15, BLC-2 and Varget.

Excellent propellants for the .308 Win. and 168 grain E-Tip.

I worked up to 44.5-45.0 grains of IMR 4064 with the 165 or 168 grain Noslers PT or CT Silvertips. The load depended more on the case that I was using with W-W cases being lighter and using more powder. Velocity was about 2650 fps in a 22 inch Ruger Number One, yes they did make some in .308 Win. Very good accuracy.
