I'm hoping Nosler will make a 220 grain Partition for the 325 WSM.

The heavier bullet weight really brings out the potintial of the 325.

If the only Partition available is a 200 grain we might as well just buy a
300 WSM.

Thanks for listening,

Question is can the 220 gr be pushed fast enough out of the 325 to make it worthwhile? If your gonna get 2700 fps then again might as well use a 220gr in a 30 cal magnum at the same speed but with more BC and SD.

Good question POP,

Winchester list its 220 gr. at 2,840 and I'll bet with the right powder that can be pushed to 2,900 fps and stay under 65k.

For solids I think SD can be a huge factor but going to softs I still have to wonder if those high numbers mean anything.

Never been an 8mm fan, but the 325 really gets my attention and if Nosler would make my favorite bullet , the Partition, in a 220 I'm all over it. It's BC would be high enough to satisfy my ballistic quest. It's 200 grain Partition in 8mm in BC anemic.

The 325 200 AccuBond just doesnt cut it for me, Im staying with Partitions for elk. Again, might as well just stick with my 300 WSM and use
200 Partitions if the right bullet doesnt come out.

Without the 220 NP the 325 is a non-factor for the killing fields, for my usage and needs.

How about splitting the diff. & making a 210grNP? I think Win. screwed the pooch by not making it a 330wsm. I would have bought one right away. Now the ball is in Rem. court, could a .330SAUM be coming? This would be a high country elk rig in a 23"bbl. M7. Sign me up.

Not really. A lot of thought went into the 325 from Win. That was by far the biggest diameter they could do in the WSM case and be of any use. The 338 bullets went way deep in the case and velocity was like a 338-06.

No, a 220 would be needed in order to duplicate the sectional density of a 250 grain 338. I would just like a larger 8mm Partition that would work in the 8X68S, 325 WSM, and 8mm Remington magnum for brown bear in the thick stuff.

I would certainly be interested in a 220 Partition.

I couldn't care less about the 325 Whatever, but have two 8mm Mags that I feed 220 grain bullets to and that weight is getting hard to find many choices in.

No more Barnes Xs or Hornadies. Swifts are a little pricey and the Sierra is too soft.

Very true about the Sierra, but unfortunately you have to care about the 325 WSM. The reason we never got any good 8mm premium bullets before is we only had one catridge, the 8mm magnum. Increased interest in the 325 will generate more premium bullet offereings. It's basic supply and demand. Its because of the 325 we have a 200 grain 8mm AccuBond. If the 325 fails, it'll take the premium bullets with it.

I've used the Sierra's in a 8MM-06 Ackley Improved on wild hogs and they seem to work very well. Never killed anything bigger so I don't about anything else. I am shooting these in a 17" encore pistol barrel with a Simmons 4X pistol scope. It will stay in about an inch and a half at 100 yards. Thats about as good as I can shoot.
