I'm hijacking Jim's thread to post my pics of a recovered 250AB from an ID bull moose. The rifle is a 338RUM XCR, velocity is about 2970 fps. The moose was about 175-200yds away and broadside.

Do you have any stats for the recovered bullet? Looks like it did very well, nice recovery.

Both of these bullets did their job, whether in water jugs or in a moose. Both bullets performed exactly per specification. What more can you ask for? I really like those big .338's for elk and moose.

Rich,

Nice catch buddy and congrtulations on the bull moose.
Post a picture of the moose.

There's a reply in the 2011 Hunting Pics Sticky and a separate thread in the hunting section.

Nice addendum. If a moose and 338RUM velocities don't induce failure, what will?

Every bullet collected from game seems to mirror what I've seen from water jug testing with the jugs possibly a tad bit harsher.

Great point CC. I was going to say the same. Thanks to Guy and Jim they have set the bar for bullet testing. Plus it makes for a very fun and informative test. Plus after seeing all of these bullets come out of game, very realistic as well. Scotty

Richracer - congrats on the moose! I don't think a guy could ask for better bullet performance...
