Is it possible that Nosler will ever make the .458 300gr Partition again? The reason I ask is I would like to use them on my OR elk hunt. If anybody has some they would like to sell please send me a PM.
I know a few guys on here that would like for Nosler to make them again.

Yeah, I am not sure who we have to beg in order to get some of these, but I will say this, there are scores of 45-70 shooters who will buy all you can make! I really can't believe this bullet is any less popular than others, but man, NOSLER make some more of these bullets. Like Brian, I would like to use the 300gr PT for my OR Elk hunt... They are getting so scarce I don't wanna shoot them on anything less than moose! Scotty

Nosler,

As you know, there is a demand for the .458 cal 300 gr PP. This bullet gives impressive results in the 45-70 and 450 Mag.

When will you committ to making a special run of this great bullet. I know they are not planned for 2011 production but what about 2012?
I am confident you will sell everyone you make!

What do you say Nosler?

I can't believe that bullet wasn't popular enough to keep around. It is THE bullet for us .458 guys who want a semi flat shooting bullet that will handle moose and elk. Love it. Hopefully you all put some out. Their too good to let go. Scotty

350 gr Swift A-Frame and 350 gr Hornady FNSP, driven into the water jugs at 2040 fps, and 2080 fps respectively.

I don't think an honest 2100 fps from a 22" Marlin 1895 is at all unrealistic, in fact I tested one batch of 350 gr Hornady bullets over H4198 at 2120 fps from the Marlin, at a couple of grains under Hodgdon's maximum listed load. The Swift is expensive, but sure mushrooms and retains weight well. The Hornady isn't too bad at all, particularly for the price. Good alternatives if a guy can't find the scarce 300 gr Nosler Partition.

Thanks Guy! Scotty had said the same thing about those two and the Speer 300 grainer.

The 300 grain Partition is the only jacketed bullet I've ever been interested in...lots of people swear by it, it should remain available.

At one time Winchester was planning on using that bullet in the form of Partition Gold...I was eagerly awaiting the release of that ammo, but it never happened.

Please...start making the 300 grain Partition again!

The 300gr PP is the absolute best all around hunting bullet for the 45/70! Don't you think Nosler could make again. Hint Hint!

Those Hornady's look great Guy. I happen to have about 5 boxes of them and have started some load work with them. I would say your speeds seem right in line with what I am getting. Probably about all the bullet anyone would need for anything short of really dangerous stuff, and even then, it still looks pretty stout. Scotty

Nosler indeed needs to go back to making the 300 gr. Partition. I've succesfully used that bullet on hogs, bear, and african plains game. It is my go to bullet in my 45-70 guide gun.

I found those pics awhile back and after seeing them I switched from the 405Rem to the 350 Hornady FP from my 1895G. They are very accurate too.

1895G - 18.5" barrel
WW Brass
CCI200
59.0grs - H4895
350 - Honady FP

1912fps

Sounds like a great load Heath. I have some loaded right now and I need to get them finalized. Heck, I just need to go shoot the Guide Rifle! Been too long since I have touched it off! Scotty

I know more members want the 300 grainer back. Keep the thread going! I need 300gr Partitions!
