6.5 GWI ..... ???????

I think that is a good decision to put it back to 6.5x55 Swede. I assume that the action ring is 1.24 diameter and not 1.31. These forums can be misleading sometimes because people disseminate information without qualifying exactly and gramatically what they are referring to which leads to misunderstandings.

Thank you Mortis for clearing up the fact that this was a Pre-1952, military 6.5x55 Husky and not a commercial action, all of which that, if made after 1950, as sporting rifles, were large ring commercial Mauser sporters made exclusively by FN-Herstal or by HVA.

Sorry about that.... I tend to think in the terms on military actions when dealing with any type Mauser action.

It's ok Mortis, there are so many different Huskys out there that it can be a little confusing at times. Heck even Sears and Roebuck had HVAs in their line. No matter which one they all are great rifles, just different.
