I took the M673 Guide rifle chambered in 6.5mm Rem Mag out to clock some 120 gr BT's.
The load consist of 57.0 grs IMR 4831, R-P case and a Federal GM215M primer.
Load averaged 3150 fps, ES 3 SD 2. Group went .627".

I am going to use this for WT this season.

The 673s can be a pleasant surprise. It required some tweaking to make my 350 RM what I wanted, but I have no real complaints. It still doesn't like heavy for calibre bullets, but it shoots 200 grain bullets into tiny little holes. You have a great load posted there and obviously, it is a fine rifle.

Thanks Mike.
As you stated, it took some work. After the action was bedded, it started shooting. Just need to keep the barrel cool or it gets wild fast.

I handled a Remington 600 chambered in 350 RM this afternoon. Man, if I could find a 660 or a 673 chambered in the 6.5 RM, I believe I'd jump on it. It's about time. I may have to begin looking.

OOOH? That's something that may come to be useful info for us with the 350JR. Jim's converstion is a 673 Rem 350RM.

He picked up a couple boxes of Speer 220 grain to use but if they dont group, at least I'll have suggested path.

Don't mean his rifle is the same but there might be a trend??

God Bless

That 6.5 soundls like a winner! I dont even dream of getting our rifles to group like that.
God Bless

The 6.5mm Rem Mag shoots the 130 gr AB very well too.

Another great load you have there Jim, it will be interesting to see how the 120 gr BT handles the extra speed on your next deer. Any plans to try the 140 gr BT? I have some of those waiting the arrival of the new 260 Rem.......

Gerry

I just may give the 140 gr BT a try next year. If I do, I will have to shoot a few crop damage deer with it.

Keep tinkering, Jim. Life demands that we test everything we can, if only for the experience.

Great shooting Jim. Might need to try them in the 264. I think they would take fur off the animals!
