Any one tried IMR 7828ssc in a 3006 with 165 or maybe 180 grain bullets? I have a pound of this I have not used and I'm trying to figure out what I can do with it.

I used to use it in my .270 and loved it but I can not seem to find any loads for the 3006.

Actually...it is usable. I played with it a few years ago but had a computer melt down and lost my records. If I remember right I had loaded about 62 grains (pretty compressed) under some 180 horn spire points. I think the load did about 2750fps and was fairly clean burning and at least average accuracy. This powder is just slightly slower than re22 which is pretty well liked under 180's in the '06.
My quickload predicst this load will be right on par with my memory as it is thinking 2751 fps and about 56k pressure.
I agree there are probably better powders but if you want to burn it why not try a test run of 3-5 casings??
