Justin,

Welcome to the forum! There are a couple guys here that shot the 6mm Rem and will give you some help. I'm a Hart barrel fan myself.
I would take a look at RL19 and the Federal GM210M primer. You have the 215 Magnum primer listed but I don't think you need it in the 6mm Rem case size.
I've used the 70 gr BT in a 243 Win in the past and that bullet killed woodchucks out to 400 yds like lighting. 8)
What do you plan on hunting with your 6mm Remington?

The 6mm sure is a great cartridge especially for the reloader. Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Thanks for the information JD338, I will be using the 6mm for ground Hogs mainly. I have a handfull of reloads left and will try the primers you suggest and R-19 powder.

Justin,

Just a thought....
try your current load with the Federal GM210M primers. It might get you to where you want to be.
What kind of accuracy are you getting with your rifle?

JD338

Hello JD338 I am going to pick up GM210M primers and give them a try in my current load before making a change in powder. As far as accuracy its not to bad, with a 200 yd zero its a tad bit larger than 1.5 MOA off a bench. At the reloading bench I am using RCBS Neck Sizing dies, and neckturning to +/- .002. and all the other basic reloading steps. One thing I don't do is check for bullet runout on my loads. Any other suggestions (if I cain't tighten up my groups I may try H4350 @ 46gr with the GM210M primer)

In the 6mm Rem Varget N150,and IMR4064 have worked for me with the 70gr BT's. I have had better luck with the 80 gr bullets and RL19. Mine is a standard Rem BDL w 1:9 twist

I have a 6mm Remington built on a Model 98 Mauser action, with a 1:12, 24 inch Schneider SS barrel. This is a sporter weight rifle weighing about 8.5 lbs. with a Leupold 12X M8 scope.

This rifle loves light bullets (as you'd expect from the slow twist). I've tried lots of different combinations, but I got the best 3 shot group I've ever fired (or ever will -- it measured 0.08 inches @ 100 yards) using 45 grains of IMR 4064, a 55 grain CT ballistic tip, WLR primer and Winchester cases, and, as measured by my Stoney Point gage, it was 3.387 inches.

I continue to have very good luck with 55 grain Nosler/CT bullets , and almost equally good results with the Hornady 58 gr. bullets.

For me, the IMR 4064/bullet combination seems to be about as good as it gets.

(This rifle will not shoot long bullets -- anything over 90 grains passes the critical length test for this rig, and will keyhole at 100 yards, if I manage to hit the paper with it.)
