Well I have been wondering about necking down the .375Ruger to .338 since I first heard of the new Ruger round. Seems like Hornady and Ruger both liked the idea and have two new cartridges, .338RCM and .30RCM....

Of course these have been cut down compared to the original .375Ruger. Still would be an interesting round for my Encore.

Interesting... but I would go with the RUMS.

Case size or action size is not really a big thing for me.

I agree, it is an interesting concept.

I think I'm going to stay with my 338 RUM. It is the Hammer of Thor!

A full length .375 Ruger case, necked to .338 would have made a splendid cartridge.

There is a guy on a specialty pistol forum I belong to who has Match Grade Machine making him several barrels in that cartridge. He named it .338Barker I believe.

Yep!! The shortie does not interest me at all, but the full length one would have.

The new RCM`s are not a full length Ruger 375. They are shorter, yet still based on the Ruger 375 case!!......The 338 RCM does duplicate the 338 Winnie`s performance. Have not seen any results from the 300 RCM yet!..........

I suspect the 338 will last, maybe, but the 300 enters a world with too many players already, and won't make it. Personally, I'd like to see a real hyper-velocity round, something like a 7m-375 or some such. Should be able to best the STW by a noticeable margin, which makes it a real smoker. Or maybe a 6.5-375? There are lots of possibilities.

I think Ruger is chasing the 325 WSM and 338 Federal market.
I think they would have been better off necking down the 375 Ruger to 338. I winder if they are planning on 416 and 458 versions of the 375 Ruger?
