Laggard that I am, I can not stand to see our President lie, so when this one's face moves, I change the channel. You can not tell me that collecting a few $ million from millionaires like Mitt who only have Interest and Dividend, plus Capital Gains income is going to affect the retirement of the National Debt of $12+ trillion and growing? Obama has no new ideas, no clue about economic leadership, except artificially low interest rates and printing money. However, changing this law does set it up to further change and increase taxes on retired people like myself who get about $1000 or so per year in interest and Dividends income to augment our ho-hum pensions. Class warfare at its best, when you have nothing to say, go after the other classes and make a case that they are getting away with something, they are following the US Tax Code!.

Yeah, I actually change the channel when the President appears on the screen. I was working that evening leading a Bible study, so there was no temptation to watch. However, Greenberg's summary is spot on and absolutely hilarious.

I did enjoy the Republicans reaction speach that aired shortly after. I will admit that I only caught the second half of the state of the union, can't say I was very impressed. But to be fair, I think they all lie a bit during the state of the unio. Seems more like a high school pep rally than anything else. "All is well, if you ignore the bad stuff" type of deal.
