Not too shabby....as long as it is accurate.

Well, at least I have a chance with this No.1 MkIII being accurate since the Lithgow factory was known for making the best MkIII's. We shall see.

Even if it is a three inch rifle at one hundred yards, that is minute of deer to 300+ yards.

Yes it is and with open sights 300yds while hunting will be my limit with this one unless accuracy is under 3" at 100yds. If it is under 3" I will get to practice with the rifle from a good rest and learning where the adjustable sight hits at different distance that I range using the accurate load and velocity I settle on. This will all be another adventure that I will love taking no matter what.

Mike,

It should be fun, regardless. Best of luck with this rifle.

My Great Uncle ran a hunting lodge for about 60 years. He killed over 1000 deer with a .303.

Now that is a testimony with very valid empirical evidence for sure. WOW!!!

It was an old Lee Enfield, of one kind or another. It was sporterized, but just a little bit, and only had iron sights. He guided a lot of hunter's that couldn't shoot straight, but they all filled their tag!

Well, 100 Remington brass, 100 Sierra Pro Hunter 180gr SPT bullets and a Lee deluxe die set for the 303 British are on their way. Should start loading for it next week. Will try IMR4895, IMR4320, and AA2495BR using Fed 210 primers.
