I have concluded that this combo will not work for me. If any one have had succes with this GOD BLESS YOU....@56gr I shoot 3030fps. Published is 3330..Wow what a difference. I know it's gas operated but WOW.. I loaded F/ 52 - 56gr in 1 grain increments with COL@ 3.18 and all were 300fps lower than published. Best load was 54gr REL 15,125gr BT,REM 9.5 primer,Nosler brass, @2910FPS... spread is calculated with bullet diameter subtracted.

If RL15 didn't work for you, I would try something like VARGET. If I can't get RL15 to work, usually Varget fills right in. H4895 might also be decent. Odd that your speeds were so far off. Looks like you could make a 150gr bullet got about that fast. Scotty

I can't comment on the 125gr BT because i haven't tried that bullet yet but i do plan to soon as i have some on order now. However, i've had excellent results using the RL15 in combination with the 130gr Barnes TSX. I've aslo had good results with IMR4064/IMR3031/H414 with lighter bullets in the 30.06 so you may want to give those a try as well. Good Luck. Here's a target of the Barnes and RE15.

Wow, great shooting. That is an excellent group there. That looks like it would be a dynamite deer round. Any idea what kind of speed you are getting out of those? Scotty

Guybo,

Nothing wrong with that group. It looks that that load will be a game getter, for sure.

beretzs.......sorry but i've never shot that load through a chrony. Don't know if this will help any but Barnes manual says at 56.5grs Re15 =3285 fps, that load is 55grs.

DrMike.....yes it's an excellent deer load. I've shot several deer with that load from close range out to 300yds and all have fallen in the scope when i pulled the trigger. I've yet to recover a bullet as all have exited the animal.
