any secret family recipes for a 340 wby 250 gr Berger hunting.

if you cant let them go just sit down with a cold one and let old "DUKE" have the computer for a while.

While its no 340 Bee I'm getting 2850 with 80 gr of 7828 and sub .5 MOA groups with the 250 elite hunter out of my 338/375R. This should be a bit lighter than what you could run, but might serve as a decent starting point.

Ran the range with it the other day and made first shot, dang near center hits out to 800 yards on all my gongs. I have yet to put one into game, but they sure make a sick sound on steel!

Good luck.

Jmad, drop that load by about 2 grain of IMR 7828 SSC (to 78.0 grains, 7828 SSC) and it should be a good maximum load that one should carefully work up to in the .340 Bee.

I have shot the 80 gr load several time and am getting no pressure issues. I was able to push the 250 just over 2900 but they didn't group all that well. I'm over four firings on this brass with no issues, so I think I'm pretty safe with it. When I get all my 7828 shot up I'll go back and look for some 7828SSC. I'm using that in my 270 weatherby as well.

I don't know much about the 340 Weatherby, but I'm quite a ways under the charge weight for the 340 Weatherby data that Nosler has listed.

My bad, my .340 Weatherby used 88 grains of IMR 7828 SSC for the 225 Partition. I did a senior moment and did it from memory and not the manual. Sorry to waste your time!

I hate it when that happens. I have done the same thing....In my own post, about my own loads.
