Usually, unless otherwise stated the manuals list max case lenght. They may also list the "trim to" lenght which is the recommended min lenght. It doesn`t hurt to go a touch short but don`t allow the cases to excede the max lenght.
I think that's the SAAMI standard length you are referring to. Individual chambers can vary so it may be that the SAAMI "trim to length" may not exactly match the dimension of your chamber. Not knowing the length of your chamber it's probably safest to use the SAAMI spec's. From what I've read, if the case is not trimmed to the proper length and the case mouth extends into the rifling of the barrel, the mouth cannot expand properly and the bullet will be forced through what amounts to an undersize mouth which will result in an increase in pressure while degrading accuracy.
