would it be possible to rechamber my 308 win ( tc encore barrel)
to a 300 win mag?would the extractory part still fit, how would i do this,
$??
i know its lots of questions but i dont do this stuff yet , so any help is appreciated

I dont see why not but for what it would cost I think you could get a barrel for not much more.

Sell the old barrel, and buy a new one. Much cheaper solutuion.
I you like to experiment with different calibers, it's a great way to keep the cost down. In addition, barrels are not guns, so you can order and sell them online without going through an FFL.

I agree, buy a new barrel and trade/sell the old one.

I'd keep the 308 barrel AND buy the 300Win barrel.

I have a similar set up in a NEF Handi-Rifle. Bought one in 223 w/bull barrel and since NEF has their barrel program, I sent the stock and fore-end (w/o the 223 barrel) to them to have a 243 bull barrel fiited to it. It cost me $90 for the barrel & fitting plus the shipping both ways.

Rich.
I think I have the same Handi-rifle as you!
I was considering sending it in to have it fitted with .270 Win and a shotgun barrel. I just wish they offered it in bottleneck cartridge larger then 30.06, I'd add that in at the same time.

The only thing is, I had a trigger job done on it and they undid the trigger job. My gunsmith does not want to redo the trigger job as I guess it's a real pain in the *** on this gun. Oh well.......

I would also keep the 06 barrel....if it is a good shooter, and just get any other barrels that you want.

Long

It can be done since it is a single shot with no action length to worry about.
