How many of you remove the decapping rod an pin from your resizing die? I do for several reasons, first i like a lot of neck tension, i don't like pulling the expander plug back through the necks as this causes some case stretch. Also, if you ever have a stuck case just drop the correct size punch in the top of the die and tap it out. I feel like i get more consistent necks by doing it that way. I look at it this way, we all know how important the barrel crown is, its the last thing that's in contact with bullet, the same can be said for case necks as its the last thing the bullets contact before entering the lands . I use a base and pin to knock out the old primer, some are from the old Lee loaders and some i have bought from Sinclairs.
Not trying to change the way people do things but this works great.

Another thing I do is to deprime everything with a universal deprime die, so there is no sizing operation going on when I deprime, and vice versa. I don't use dies without the expander ball, as I can't make that work in my rifle, but I do use the collet dies from Lee to neck size when I can, and that seems to help a lot. I'd really like to get collets for everything I own, and then get Redding body dies also, but that seems like a lot of work for hunting ammo.
