Is there still no published load data for the e-tip bullets? Is the Nosler informal position still that max is two grains less than max for leaded bullets? Why hasn't Nosler published data for the e-tips? I use mostly Nosler bullets. When developing a load for the e-tip, I used the information published in Shooting Times that stated the recipe to use is the same as for the AccuBond leaded bullets, and ended up with 59 grains of IMR 4350 giving me the tightest group which is the same powder load that gave me the tightest patterns with leaded bullets including the AccuBond. After I completed the load development I then heard that max load should be 57 grains of IMR 4350 for 150 grain e-tips which yielded larger groups than 59 grains. Do I truly have a dangerous over pressure condition with 59 grains of IMR 4350. There is no physical indication on the fired brass such as flattened primers to indicate over pressure. The muzzle velocity is just under 3000 fps. I get a chronographed muzzle velocity of between 2914 and 2880 fps for various Nosler and Hornady 165 grain bullets.
I would sure like to hear the expierence of others on their e-tip development work. Should I remove the bullets and try another powder to get good groups with something 2 grains less than max (two grains less than the leaded max sounds very scientific) with another powder? What powders have some of you other guys used for good groups?
