Due to the lack of availability of Nosler 180 Accubonds to load for my Rem. 700 30-06 I purchased some 165 grain Accubonds to try. My "Go To" load has been new Nosler cases, WLR primer, 61.0 gr Reloder 22 and the 180 AccuBond set at a comparator OAL of 3.745", which is about 0.105 off the rifling. This load has produced 2,750 fps and MOA or a little better groups for me when I do my part.

Unless I find some compelling reason to change, I intend to use 180's in the future when supplies are available. I know that the 180 has a little better sectional density, thus better penetration all else being equal.

Does anyone have an Educated Guess at how much, if any, I will have to change seating depth when I change to the 165's? Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Rol

Using the 168s, the distance to the lands (as measured from the ogive) will likely be similar to what you worked out with the 180s.

Yup. I have always started with an oal the previous load liked. Especially with accubonds. Normally very little adjustment is needed
