FS - JP Sauer and Sohn Mauser 98 Sporter .35 Whelen

Beautiful patina J.P. Sauer and Sohn Mauser 98 sporter. Double set triggers, 23.75" half round, half octagonal barrel with integral rib. Dovetailed for front and rear sights, as well as drilled and tapped for a receiver peep sight it includes the original sling swivels (one mounted on the barrel), raised panels on the stock, steel grip cap and schnabel forend. I had a Pachmayr decelerator recoil pad installed, LOP is 13 7/16." It has been modified and drilled and tapped for a Redfield Jr scope base. Originally chambered for 8x57mm J, it was rebored to .35 Whelen before I acquired it.

Some marks of use on the metal and stock but all in all a beautiful piece. Bolt handle altered for scope usage, Timney safety lever replaced the original Mauser safety lever. Currently has Leupold M8-4x gloss duplex scope mounted in Leupold rings.

I haven't fired a shot through it. I would imagine very well but never got the chance and rather than invest a bunch of money developing a load etc. I am sending it down the road.

Also just for general knowledge, I would take a decent Winchester Model 70 XTR or New Haven Featherweight in .243 as a partial trade and take the balance in $$!
