I am doing a load development for my new custom built 6.5 Creedmore with Surgeon action and a 30 inch Shilen Match barrel. I did the ladder test on the 130 and 140 grain bullets. I used H4350 it does also show some promising loads of 4 rounds of 130 grain into .160 MOA at 100 yards on my first day of testing with 41 grains of H4350 and its a mild load at 2800 fps. I have not given up yet, still need to do my 2nd day of testing.

I was wondering since the H4831SC is a very non sensitive powder and worked wonders on my 6.5 X 284 and it is not listed in the Creedmore listed choice of powders. I was wondering if any of you have tried H4831SC and RL 19in the 6.5 Creedmore? I am reluctant to try if its not listed, hopefully someone can chime in.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you have a shooter on your hands. You certainly have chosen some quality components. The load you describe with H4350 is definitely mild; you do have some room to grow.

QL projects that H4831SC would work for you, though it does not give the highest velocity or meet other criteria as well as other powders.

Boosting the charge to near maximum does up the velocity quite a bit, and may allow for refinement on other powders.

Thanks for the response. The 41 grains was the shooter at about .160 MOA with 4 in one, but I have tried up to 42.6 grains and groups open up to an inch. The other load which is 41.8 grains shot 3 in one hole and one round about a third of an inch above the hole. The 3 in 1 measured about .1 MOA. Not sure why the flyer was a half inch above on the 4th shot. Could be shooter error, there was some mirage there too. I may try those two loads again and tweak the bullet seating depth off the lands another .010 and a change of primers. Using Hornady brass and Fed 210 Match. I have some Norma brass that I never tried.

I have some confusion on barrel time on the post that you sent. I know that the barrel is like a tuning fork, just need to be in the perfect spot to be accurate. The numbers is what I have confusion with, just don't understand what the numbers have in terms of trying to find the perfect node.

The last pic on the list of powders,,,are those powders not recommended? I see over 100% on powder fill, including the H4831SC, so it will not work with this powder? Maybe you can help me here, thanks

Fwiw, I run H4831SC in a 260 AI as my preferred powder. Accuracy is excellent with it. I only mention it as case capacities between the two cartridges are fairly close.

I've used 43gn of H-4831SC with the 140gn Hornady Match bullets. I think the average velocity was 2640fps but I'm not sure. I was looking for a 1,000 yard load with the 140 Match bullets. Superformance is too wishy washy with variances in velocity with that bullet.
