Happy Thanksgiving to you all too. Hope you have some luck tomorrow if you go hunting. Hope everybody has a great day with their families. Scotty

I hope everyone has a fun but safe Thanksgiving holiday. Remember to save room for pie.

I also wish for all to have a great Thanksgiving.

DrMike, go buy a turkey etc....and celebrate with us :)

JD, we are having Blueberry pie, apple pie, cherry pie and pumkin pie.

I really like pie 8)

Long,

For the first several years in Canada, we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving (first Monday in October) and American Thanksgiving. With the passage of time, we adapted to local traditions. You may be certain that we will be phoning family, however, and touching base, giving thanks to God for our heritage. Consequently, I may just prepare a turkey breast!

This is the first year I am deep frying a turkey. Did a turkey last weekend for practice, and man, was it good. Can't get enough of the bird. Wished it was one I killed, but they are still pretty good! Scotty

May my southern brothers and sisters have a blessed thanksgiving.
We all are so fortunate to live where we do.
Also blessings to the young men and women who are over seas fighting for peace.

Blessings,
Dan

We are all blessed to live where we do and have the freedoms that we do have. Wishing all of you a very happy Thanksgiving.

I made my grandmothers recipe of Swedish meatballs for dinner tomorrow, using venison instead of hamburger (lingonberry sauce to eat with it of course). Had my girlfriend taste one this afternoon with the cream sauce, and got a resonding positive 8) ! The only problem is it is still about her turkey and not my wild game that I bring to dinner if I want to stay on her good side  .

By the way, three pies according to what I have been told, one being chocolate moouse' my favorite.

I second the chocolate moose sp? My grandma used to make them and man. I couldn't get enough of them. Scotty

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Sportsmen and your families. I'm going to meet my girlfriend's parents tomorrow for the first time...Yay! At least her dad is a reloader and gun nut so it shouldn't be too bad. No hunting tomorrow but I'm gonna get together with a couple buds and hunt pheasants and rabbits the rest of weekend so should be a good time.

Yote.... Good luck with that !!

Happy Thanksgiving to All.... Safe travels !

My Son is 6yrs old and doesn't like pumpkin pie..... SO......issue resolved, we renamed it spice pie and he loves it ....

Happy thanksgiving to all!
Despite our worries and fears we still live on the best continent.
What we fear of losing most of the world never got to have.
I like DrMike's idea, celebrate all the thanksgivings.

Deep fried turkey is the best!
Just do it away from the house, and not on the deck either. Stay close to it and keep the temp between 325-350*. 3 min per pound.

Let us know how it turns out.

Will do. Thanks for the tip JD. Did a rehearsal and it turned out well. Thanks again and hope your turkey turns out well also. Scotty

Scotty,

A 12-14# bird is about perfect for the deep fryer. Make sure you don't over fill with oil. If you are not sure how much to fill, do a "dry" run with water prior to starting.
Overflowing oil into the burner is what causes fires.

Be safe and enjoy.

Thanks JD. That was my thought exactly. The water in the pan with the turkey is what my great uncle instructed me to do. I have it on a stone deck, so things should be good. Can't wait to eat it. I am no officialy a fan of the turkey frier! Good meat and the skin tastes like chicken wings. Can't beat it.

Scotty,

That deep-fried turkey sounds delicious. Trust it comes out well.

Deep Fried Turkey, we tried it a couple of years ago and it was amazing.
I am not a big turkey fan usually but deep fried is not bad at all.

Everyone enjoy your family and friends today!
Again a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
Dan
