I realize this is a Nosler forum and I shoot mostly Nosler PAR and BT bullets. However I picked up some 130gr Scirocco bullets for my Tikka 6.5X55 and do not want to buy a swift manual just for this one test. I also had an article out of a mag for the 6.5X55 with modern (higher pressure) loads) and misplaced it which may of had some data in it.
Does anyone have any data for this bullet in the 6.5X55 that they could send to me/list here or whatever. I have many powders except AA powders to load with. I would not have posted it on the Nosler site but I did post it on two other sites without any answers. I must be the only 6.5X55 shooter out there.

I`ve never loaded that specific bullet but, 47gr of R22 with a Hornady 129gr SP makes one very accurate and hard hitting load in my Swede.
R22 or H4831 work well with 125gr Noslers and 140 gr Sierra BTSP or 140gr Nosler Custom Comp bullets also. Either of these two powders would be my choice as a place to begin load development.

sadly, the swift manual number one does not list data for the 130 grain
scirocco for the 6.5x55. it lists 120 & 140 grain A-frame only. for the 140:

Powder Amount Range (L-H)
H-1000 44.2@2330 47.5@2486
H4350 36.3@2390 39.0@2449

RL-19 40.9@2425 44.0@2526
RL-22 42.8@2428 46.0@2532

IMR-4350 38.1@2397 41.0@2507
IMR-4831 39.5@2401 42.5@2503

i think since the data you seek is not in the manual, they will most likely
provide it to you via phone or e-mail.

I've had very good luck with H4831 in my swede. I'll be be interested in your range report. I'd buddy's had hit and miss luck with them in his 300 RUM. 150 rem factory loads with Scirocco's shoot great. 180 factory's are all over the place, and we had trouble getting the 165's to shoot with hand loads.

If you have them both on the shelf, I'd load both H4831 and RL22.
Nosler lists Norma Brass, Rem 91/2 primers 130gr ab with:
44-48 H4831sc
Hodgdon's lists 47-50gr of RL22 with a 125-129gr bullet.

Every bullets a little different, but this should get you in the ball park.

You really can't get enough AA, H or IMR 4350 or slower burning powders than these in a 6.5X55 case to be over pressure for a modern action under normal conditions. I have shot 45 grs AA 4350 with 140 gr bullets in 96 Swede Mauser action rifles for years with no problems. With the 29 inch barrels on the M-96 I get 2850 fps with the 140's and 46 grs AA 4350 with 120 gr Nos. BT or Sierra bullets I get 3000 fps. Both loads are very accurate and will smack a deer DRT.

You can call Swift and speak to Bill Huber, CEO and President of Swift bullets, 203-459-8464. He is very good about calling you back and very helpful. I shoot Sciroccos in my 6mm and have shot them in 7STW off and on. I spoke to Bill at great length about the 6mm, he was extremely helpful and very nice to deal with.
