Thought I would tempt you all with a picture of a huge ram taken over near Anaconda Montana a few years ago. He is 49 1/2" on the long side and 46" long on his short side! What a toad and I love the way he flares out. This is the stuff of dreams. Man I need to get my sheep permit in soon!

For comparison here is a picture of a ram a friend of mine took when I was with him. It is 40 1/2" on the long side. A great ram too but man there is a huge difference between them!

His ram was taken with a Ruger 1B in 6mm Remington using a 100 gr. Nosler Partition!!

Any ram can be a trophy. They demand some work, that's for sure.

Wonderful photos of those two great rams! Thanks!

It's a dream of mine - we've got a herd right outside of town with some big rams in it. Draw odds are rough, really rough, but I do intend to keep applying for that permit!

Fellow I know here in town took this terrific ram a few years ago, just north of town, Wenatchee, Washington. It's the Worlds Record for the "California" subspecies of bighorns. Measured somewhere in the low 190's as I recall:

This is a tag I keep applying for, but so does the rest of the world, so my chances are slim...

I hear you on chances Guy. Most districts here in Montana you have about a 0.50 chance of getting drawn. :?

Those are beautiful rams! I cant even think of that on my bucket list but boy oh boy.... Here's one for you. Not as huge but "rare". Taken by my Dads cousin....in South Dakota. That's where I want one from..... :)

Cool pics! A big horn is high on my wish list. I'm afraid I've already run out of wishes though.

Guy that's sure a tremendous ram your buddy took. Did you get to eat any of it? I sure was impressed with how good it was.

Wow, very cool guys. Over a decade ago I drew a Sheep tag in the lower Rock Creek area of Montana and left empty handed only to see a huge ram the following year with five other rams in a large band of sheep.

Funny how that can happen, Oh well!

Dang if I would have been a member then and knew what you had, I would certainly have done some leg work for you, contacted biologists, got you maps, and even went with to show if I wasn't intruding! I would have loved to have helped you out. I'm 30 minutes from the area! Darn it! My friends ram came from the Upper Rock Creek area.

That was a toad, for sure. I've driven down to Cadomin on several occasions to look at the rams. It is a magnificent sight. I imagine I've seen that bad boy at one time or another, as well.
